Getaway Cars
A small site on the surface — and a whole business running underneath. A custom booking system that takes a vintage car rental from first click to signed, paid and on the road.
01 — The challenge
Too many steps between “I want that car” and a booked ride.
Getaway Cars came to me with a logo and a handful of design elements inherited from a previous developer. The bigger problem wasn't the look — it was the process.
Every booking meant a chain of manual hand-offs: a customer finds the site, asks for a quote, the owner works out pricing by hand, sends it, waits for a reply, chases payment, then lines up a chauffeur. Each step was a chance to lose the booking.
02 — The solution
One system. Five steps.
I built a custom platform that carries every booking from browsing to the big day — for the customer, the owner and the driver.
-
01
Customer
Browse the fleet
Customers explore each car and choose the one for their wedding, photo session or event.
-
02
Customer
Request a quote
A guided form captures exactly what's needed to price the trip — date, times, venues and passengers.
-
03
Owner
Price it instantly
The owner sees the full route, mileage and fuel cost calculated automatically, ready to send as a quote.
-
04
Customer
Sign & pay
The client signs the contract online and pays on the spot — reservation guaranteed.
-
05
Driver
Dispatch the driver
Once payment lands, a chauffeur is automatically assigned and notified with everything they need for the event.
03 — Under the hood
The details that make it feel effortless.
-
Route-based mileage
Every quote maps the real trip: headquarters → pickup → drop-off → back to headquarters.
-
Live fuel pricing
Fuel cost uses each car's miles-per-gallon and current average gas prices for the Edmond area, pulled from an API.
-
E-signature contracts
Clients review and sign their rental agreement right from the quote — no printing, scanning or back-and-forth.
-
Instant payment
Online payment locks in the date the moment the contract is signed, and notifies the owner right away.
-
Driver briefings
Chauffeurs get tap-to-open maps for every stop, event details, passenger info — and anything they need to avoid surprises along the way.
04 — The site
Built around the fleet.
“It looks like a simple rental site. Underneath, it runs the whole business.”
Got a process
that needs simplifying?
Whether it's a brand, a website or the system behind it, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
